We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper/Office Manager to be responsible for managing the financial records, supervising trust accounts, daily accounting activities and interactions with employes on basic HR issues for our law firm.
Your expertise in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and familiarity with office operations will contribute to our efficient management.
Responsibilities:
Financial Record Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including bank statements, general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, payroll records, and other financial documents.
Trust Account:
Bookkeeping Tasks:
Perform bookkeeping functions, such as data entry, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual income statements and balance sheets.
Tax Compliance:
Work closely with tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate completion of tax returns, provide necessary documentation, and assist in tax planning strategies to optimize tax efficiency.
Payroll Administration:
Oversee payroll processing, including calculating employee wages, ensuring compliance with labor laws and tax regulations, and preparing payroll reports.
Cash Management:
Monitor cash flow, process payments, and manage bank accounts.
Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and streamline bookkeeping and accounting processes, leveraging technology and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
IT Skills:
first line problem solving IT skills are advantageous.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Professional certifications (e.
g.
, Certified Bookkeeper) are advantageous.
Office Operations:
In-depth knowledge of office operations, experience with MyCase software is a plus.
Proficiency in Accounting Software:
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced MS Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
Attention to Detail:
Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping, reconciliation, and reporting.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess financial data, identify trends, and provide valuable insights.
Organizational Skills:
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple clients simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
