Qualifications:
1.
High school diploma or equivalent and/or sixty (60) semester hours of college.
2.
Successful experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder 3.
Successful participation in training programs offered to increase the individual's skill and proficiency related to working with students with ASD, including applied behavior analysis, curriculum implementation, and crisis management techniques as approved by the Department of Exceptional Student Education (e.
g.
, Professional Crisis Management).
4.
Ability to be receptive to supervision and to work harmoniously with students with ASD.
5.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
6.
Knowledge of current computing technologies and software applications appropriate to the position's job responsibilities.
PERFORMANCE
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
1.
Assists students in individualized and small group instruction, under the direction of the assigned teacher(s).
2.
Ensures classroom environment and other areas of instruction are designed for the overall safety, care, and enrichment of the children enrolled.
3.
Assists students in using materials and equipment, under the direction of the teacher(s).
4.
Performs general clerical work in assisting assigned teacher(s) by maintaining student records, preparing and distributing teaching materials, and grading student assignments.
5.
Assists in the storage, disbursement and inventory of materials and supplies.
6.
Assists in keeping facilities neat and attractive.
7.
Performs bus, lunchroom and playground responsibilities as assigned by the teacher(s).
8.
Maintains professionalism regarding school affairs.
Provides crisis intervention as needed; both physical and non- physical.
10.
Collects behavioral data for the use of Functional Behavior Assessments and data collection for Health and Wellness Program 11.
Assists in the implementation of individual Behavior Intervention Plans.
12.
Implements crisis prevention, crisis de-escalation, crisis intervention procedures, and post-crisis strategies for students with ASD.
13.
Attends department meetings as requested.
14.
Develops rapport with students with ASD.
15.
Maintains confidentiality and professionalism regarding school affairs.
16.
Observes established school philosophy, policies and regulations.
Additional Job Functions:
Follows adopted policies and procedures in accordance with CECPB priorities.
Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest traditions of public education and in support of the CECPB's Mission Statement.
Participates in CECPB functions outside of the school day Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
The employee frequently uses hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Capable of lifting/carrying 50 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Primarily work conducted indoors in a classroom environment.
Outside each day for playground activities.

Hours:
This is a full-time position, with the workday consisting of 8:
00am to 3:
30pm.
All staff are required to attend Tuesday afternoon meetings (Faculty, Team Meetings, Leadership Meetings.
The school year follows the PBCSD's school calendar.
All 12 month employees are required to work three weeks of Extended School Year/Camp Direct Supervisor:
