Petersburg.
Kindred Hospital The Palm Beaches is a 70-bed long-term acute care hospital, we offer the same critical care patients receive in a traditional hospital or intensive care unit, but for an extended recovery period.
Our team plays a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill and medically complex patients.
We are located just north of downtown West Palm Beach and about 4 miles inland from Riviera Beach at:
5555 W.
Blue Heron Boulevard Riviera Beach, FL 33418 Education:
Appropriate degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Licenses/Certification:
Registered Nurse in the State.
BCLS and ACLS Certification.
Experience:
Minimum three years' experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing.
Minimum two years' supervisory experience preferred.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the direction of the unit's nursing staff.
Assesses staff competency of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
Ensures change of shift is conducted appropriately and staff is informed regarding conditions of patients, follow up actions requirements and any special conditions.
Ensures staff is competent to perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Informs CCO, Risk Management and Administration of circumstances, which may have a serious impact.
Coordinates and directs staff to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
Develops and prepares staffing schedules based on patient acuity and daily census.
Assesses and formulates teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning to ensure staff is competent.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, and administrative team.
Demonstrates ability to assist staff and physicians with procedures.
Ensures staff is competent to manage and operate equipment safely and correctly.
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Performs management activities, such as interviewing, hiring, counseling, termination, and assessment of staff clinical competency.
