Hospice nurses provide end of life care to help ensure the comfort and quality of life for their patients.
They primarily work in collaborative, team-driven environments that require frequent communication with their patients, families and other caregivers.
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, patient and calm.
Hospice nurses are caring and kind individuals who possess a special hospice heart who can help our patients celebrate the rest of their life's journey.
JOB SUMMARY Serves as a team leader in supervising, assessing, planning, guiding and evaluating patient care.
Interacts with management, physicians, and field staff utilizing a teamwork approach.
Assists with training and evaluation of all team clinical personnel; and maintenance/development of the clinical record.
Processes all Electronic Medical Record workflow from Admission to Discharge.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Regulatory Requirements:
RN degree from a college or university, accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and/or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education preferred.
Currently licensed and registered in the State of Florida.
BSN and/or Hospice certification preferred.
Current Basic Life Support Certification.
Skills:
Two years of recent oncology, medical/surgical, or home health, public/health experience.
Expertise in support skills, palliative care, and educational techniques.
Long term care experience preferred.
Ability to supervise other Hospice care personnel.
Able to coordinate with other health care providers in the delivery of patient care.
Able to work effectively with lay and professional volunteers.
Flexible, creative, assertive, articulate, nurturing and self-nurturing.
Homecare Homebase software experience a plus.
Able to work well under stress and deadlines.
Demonstrates organizational, administrative and personnel management skills.
Professional Requirements:
Communicates clearly and effectively in writing and verbally.
Language Skills:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
