Role
Summary:
As an Admission Coordinator/Specialist, you will be responsible for handling primary inbound calls from individuals struggling with the decision to seek treatment for mental health and substance use disorders.
You will also interact with concerned family members and loved ones who are seeking help for their relatives.
Your role is crucial in influencing and encouraging patients to make the decision to admit themselves for treatment and guiding them towards the appropriate level of care.
Inbound Call Handling:
Handle incoming calls from prospective patients, their family members, or loved ones with empathy and professionalism.
Assessment and Information:
Gather essential information about the caller's situation, including the nature and severity of their mental health or substance use concerns.
Provide Guidance:
Offer information about the different treatment options available, explaining the benefits of residential and outpatient care and helping individuals and families understand what to expect.
Influence and Encourage:
Use effective communication and counseling skills to influence and encourage patients to make the decision to seek treatment and take the next step in their recovery journey.
Admissions:
Coordinate the admission process by collecting necessary documents and information to ensure a smooth transition into treatment programs.
Follow-up:
Maintain regular contact with prospective patients and their families to address questions, provide support, and ensure a seamless admission process.
Documentation:
Keep detailed records of all interactions and admissions-related activities in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in sales, counseling, or admissions, especially in the healthcare or mental health/substance use field, is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to show understanding towards individuals and families in crisis.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle difficult and emotionally charged situations.
Ability to work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure a smooth admission process.
