CMA is recruiting for a Scientific Instrumentation Technician for a regular full time position with a growing company in South Florida. Academic or hands on experience in chemistry, biology, material science, biochemistry, physics or microbiology is highly preferred for this position. A technical background implementing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, or overhauling laboratory instrumentation equipment is required. This position will be responsible for installation, customer training and repair of highly scientific instrumentation with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Scientists or chemists with an interest in electromechanical instrumentation are desired.
Additional responsibilities include:
Installing, maintaining and supporting client's instruments in the field
Extensive national travel to client sites, laboratories and facilities (up to 75% travel)
Providing onsite customer training
Recognizing field service issues and taking appropriate action
Documenting service, installation and maintenance calls with complete reports
Maintaining sound knowledge of technology and understanding customers' applications
Providing sales department with potential leads
BS/BA in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or Biology
2+ years advanced training or experience in electronic and mechanical principles
Sound knowledge of PC operating systems, office tools and basic computer networks
Analytical mindset and drive to resolve open issues.
Highly motivated individuals, looking to take on additional responsibilities and grow within and organization
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to perform effective system level troubleshooting
Driver's license mandatory
Working knowledge of vacuum and pressure systems are highly desired
Employment contingent on background and drug testing

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
