Physician (Infectious Diseases)

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Evaluating, diagnosing, consulting, and ordering diagnostic studies - Providing face-to-face and consultation - Providing consultative series on patients referred from other sections of the Hospital and affiliated outpatient clinic - Periodically involved in supervising Residents and Students. - Participating in the educational programs for Infectious Disease physicians as well as other members of the Medical staff. - Monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care.Attending Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and Medical/Dental quarterly staff meetings. - Completing medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff. - Participating in Medical Staff committee assignments. - In the performance of official duties, the Infectious Disease physician will have regular access to printed and electronic files containing sensitive data which must be protected under the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA policy. The Physicians will be responsible for protecting the data from unauthorized release or from loss and or alteration, or unauthorized deletion. - Participating in committee assignments, QA activities, and other special projects that help fulfill and/or enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the Chief of Medicine Service or West Palm Beach VAMC Executive Leadership. - Participating in, and attending, CME activities and VA continuing educational activities. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Board certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease preferred. Experience performing work as a physician overseeing a hospitals Infectious Disease program preferred. The physician should have experience working in outpatient clinic and inpatient wards and must have in depth knowledge of infectious diseases, specifically human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), by independently performing history and physical examinations of patients with HIV. The incumbent will also have experience in evaluating, diagnosing, consulting, and ordering diagnostic studies, providing face-to-face and virtual consultations, and providing consultative services on patients referred from other sections of the hospital and affiliated outpatient clinic. Standing, walking, lifting light loads, assisting patients with positioning and transfers. Must be able to use a computer to input orders, review reports, etc. Must be able to communicate directions and patient orders. See VA Handbook and Directive 5019

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
