Physician- Cardiologist (Chief of Cardiology)

The incumbent physician will have appropriate training and experience in managing and providing clinical, administrative, and teaching services in an inpatient and outpatient clinical setting for Cardiology services. This will include providing administrative and quality management that enhances further growth and development of the Cardiology department. The administrative responsibilities will broadly include overseeing Patient Access and Triage, Provider supervision including Quality Management and performance evaluation, provider workload assessments and scheduling, and duties as described below. Clinical responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, including through rotation into the Cardiology outpatient clinic, inpatient, e-consultations, and invasive/non-invasive procedures within his/her scope of practice as stated in Cardiology medical staff privileges. The Chief of Cardiology will also directly contribute to advancing the Medical Center mission for Resident education. Duties include:
Participation in Cardiology Clinics, inpatient consultations, and e-consultations. Performance include providing direct patient care, including through rotation into the Cardiology clinic, inpatient, e-consultations, and invasive/non-invasive procedures within his/her scope of practice as stated in Cardiology medical staff privileges. Participation, delegation, and approval of the clinical on-call schedule. Coordination and ensuring Cardiac provider coverage for daily procedures to include:
Transespophageal Echocardiography, Tilt Table Testing, Cardioversion, Cardiac Catherization, Pacemaker and AICD procedures, and all future procedures requiring provider coverage. Distribution of daily Electrocardiogram, Holter, Event, ECHO, Exercise Stress Testing, interpretation workload among other Cardiologist. Provide collaborative care for transplant patients including timely submission of required transplant referral documentation Responsible to assist in ensuring that the Cardiology service meets national (JC) accreditation standards Refer to other specialties for Cardiac-related diagnoses. Assisting the Chief of Medicine in the coordination of patient care for patient requiring transfers for cardiac procedures outside WPB facility. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Selectee must have current (within the last 12 months) clinical Percutaneous Coronary Intervention experience and experience managing these procedures. The selected physician will also have appropriate experience in managing and providing clinical, administrative, and teaching services in an inpatient and outpatient clinical setting for Cardiology services. This will include providing administrative and quality management that enhances further growth and development of the Cardiology department. Clinical experience shall include providing direct patient care, including through rotation into the Cardiology outpatient clinic, inpatient, e-consultations, and invasive/non-invasive procedures within his/her scope of practice as stated in Cardiology medical staff privileges. The candidate should be fully trained in cardiology from an accredited training program in the United States, and Board certified preferred. Responsibilities include outpatient cardiology clinics, inpatient consultation and treatment, and teaching. Reference:

Standing, walking, lifting light loads, assisting patients with positioning and transfers. Must be able to use a computer to input orders, review reports, etc. Must be able to communicate directions and patient orders. See VA Handbook and Directive 5019

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
