The WG-7408-08 Cook works in the Nutrition and Food Service and performs a full range of quantity food preparation; from basic to complex modified and regular menu items. Additional duties and assignments include but are not limited to:
Plans and prepares cooking education classes for the staff and veterans group. Responsible for Coordinating with the clinical dietitian the preparation and presentation for the healthy Teaching Kitchen at the West Palm Beach VA. Develops new recipes and revises recipes when ingredients are not available Participates in taste panels to ensure acceptability of new or changed recipes Adjust recipes and cooking techniques to incorporate necessary changes when preparing for rethermalization or to serve Make necessary adjustments to appropriately heat and service convenience foods, using staggered cooking techniques to ensure food is cooked and available in required amounts to maintain smooth and uninterrupted meal service Prepares forecast for recipes on menus and ensures compliance with recipes and other forms, cooking foods only in required amounts and keeping leftovers to a minimum Instructs veterans and lower-graded staff on accepted cooking methods to preserve flavor, color and the nutritive value. Promotes and safe working environment by using equipment safely and carefully Follows instructions and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Can instruct and lead lower level cooks Run cooking operations in place of executive chef Work Schedule:

Experience:

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Stands and moves about on the tile floors for most of the tour. Frequently stoops, reaches, lifts or caries food and kitchen equipment. Hand dexterity is necessary in the utilization of machines to prepare foods. May need to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted or more with assistance

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
